Part Premature failure

This k80771 ball didn't last two years on my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD. Just today I noticed play in the ball joint. It also probably didn't help that the "built-in dust cover" tore and failed very early on, most likely allowing contaminants to enter and hastening the death of the part. Not impressed with the quality I expected.
