I've also used the plastic version of this device (CM-5.2). Neither is reliable or perfectly clean to work with, but the metal (CM-25) is generally a little easier to work with and isn't as affected by chain movement through the device. With a slightly stronger handle mount, the CM-25 is also easier to set up and exit without worrying about tipping over. This device appears to perform slightly better than its cheaper plastic version. Poorly lubricated/lubricated chains may require a few more passes, but in general with the right cleaning schedule this can help keep chains clean and efficient.
