I've had other water dispensers but these had the top bottle removed and replaced with another bottle filled with water. I'm not tall, I'm getting old (I'm only 82)), but I don't have the strength I used to have, and lifting heavy bottles is now the lot of a stronger person. That was excellent. The top bottle is non-detachable and I can fill it up simply by lifting the lid off the top and adding a few pots of tap water. The filter is on top and the water flows through the top filter to the bottom which is the discharge part of the system. I have a choice of hot and cold water almost when needed. Cod water for iced tea or iced coffee, hot for iced coffee or tea or just a cold drink. By the way, you don't have to be old to appreciate the comfort and safety of this product.
