Now that I know how to use them, Pedro's tire levers work well and do not damage the rim or tires. When I first used them on my road bike tires, the tip of one of the tire arms broke. Then I noticed that the spoon shaped part of the arms that goes under the tire bead is much thicker at the base than at the top (makes it easier to get the bead under). Once the tip of the lever is under the bead, make sure to push the base of the tire against the rim to remove it. If the lever is not far enough under the tire bead when you pull the tire off the rim, the lever will be at the tip of the lever and the tip will break off as that is the weakest part. contacted Pedro on their website for a replacement under their lifetime warranty which was not a problem. They asked me to email them a damage form with a picture of a broken lever and they promptly sent me a new pair. Before the Pedro tire changers, I used a Quik-Stik tire changer (colors may vary) which is harder to get under the tire bead and can damage the tire bead with repeated use. The spoke clip on the Pedro arm is also a plus. I generally prefer to use Pedro's lever and keep the Quik-Stik as a last resort.
