Review on πŸ”’ Presto 09985 Pressure Canner Sealing Ring: Reliable Replacement for Perfect Canning Results by Jeremy Watkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Must have for the canning season!

My tin can is about 6 years old and I have NEVER changed the ring. Last canning season I noticed I was starting to have pressure build up issues and some water was leaking out of the airtight lid in places. I knew it had to be that time. So I bought some new ones here at Revain. I was scared because they all come rolled up in the box, but once you pop this in the lid of your autoclave it fits pretty snugly. My autoclave is pressurized without any problems and no longer leaks afterwards. Each box also comes with a new overpressure plug. Make sure you change both at the same time. When the ring starts to fail, an overpressure plug soon follows, and it's easier to replace now than later when it ruptures and ruins the food in the can! And the price is local, cheaper than what we can find here locally.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine
