Works right out of the box and I had a gasket with me. Do yourself a favor and choose this kit over a recovery kit as it only costs a few bucks more and works. A friend tried to rebuild my old one but the BRP instructions are terrible and don't have a full parts diagram so you have to guess where they are. I gave this product 1 star only because of the lack of support from Sierra. I called them to make sure this would fit my Evinrude before ordering and they couldn't tell me as their script only listed VRO type pumps. After they did nothing, I contacted MarineEngine. com and they said it would work and it did. I didn't feel comfortable using their tech support when I bought from here, so I ordered a few other parts I needed from them.
