Not the same fuel pump as pictured

Fuel pump not as pictured, there are no pump numbers anywhere to identify. The fuel pump bag is full of oil, is this normal?

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Not the best

Recommended: spare parts

Excellent fuel pump. Used to replace VRO pump with Evinrude 110hp. and switch to a 50:1 fuel premix. I had to loosen the central exhaust screw and rotate the exhaust nozzle. I had to change something on the motor, but the pump works 100%. Would recommend and buy again if needed. But this one has been running for 2 years now.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

what about the oil

1- why no seal? One thing I had to do: 2 - why in a bag soaked in an oily, sticky substance? wouldn't walk Took it home and found the needles stuck in both carburetor seats. Pulled them out fairly easily but still had PITA. I suspect it was caused by a sticky oily substance clogging the fuel pump, but not 100%. I use gasoline without ethanol.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Very expensive

It works and is easy to install

First fuel pump I replaced on my boat with an Evinrude 112spl outboard. I was pleasantly surprised to find this part on a Revain after my outboard mechanic told me that the fuel pump would be my next overhaul when he was done replacing the starter motor on the outboard. I'm no mechanic but after doing a little research I figured I could replace the fuel pump. Perfect fit and perfect replacement so good it has survived 2 boating seasons and the boat is running better than ever

Pros
  • Complete Kit
Cons
  • Dumped

Works immediately out of the box and was with me.

Works right out of the box and I had a gasket with me. Do yourself a favor and choose this kit over a recovery kit as it only costs a few bucks more and works. A friend tried to rebuild my old one but the BRP instructions are terrible and don't have a full parts diagram so you have to guess where they are. I gave this product 1 star only because of the lack of support from Sierra. I called them to make sure this would fit my Evinrude before ordering and they couldn't tell me as their scriptโ€ฆ

  • Nice thing

Broken Gasket Sealant

Rebuilt my carburetors and replaced the VRO on my 1992 Johnson 100 HP with this fuel pump. The engine ran great with about 1 tank filling and then got no more power, it only ran at idle. I checked compression, made sure I had spark in all cylinders, replaced new spark plugs, ran a new fuel line, checked all connections, replaced new fuel filters. I never thought the problem could be the curdled carbs as I just restored them and everything worked great after that. But in desperation I finallyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Expensive

Works perfectly. for electric fuel pumps

Installed on Evinrude 40hp 1998. Pulled all the guts out of the VRO and used these and now mix the oil. Mounts to factory holes and this comes with a washer. Bought others and don't take the time to return them for $6. The product fits perfectly and works great. Saved something on the factory pump. Remember to plug the pulsator hole you used earlier where you remove the 7/8" nipple. To do this you will need to remove the starter motor. Gets a little more smoke on startup and at idle but runsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Some trouble
