Review on K&N KN-171C Motorcycle Oil Filter: High Performance for Harley Davidson & Buell Motorcycles - Compatible with Synthetic & Conventional Oils by William Bell

2003 HD Road King (with oil cooler) This might be a little unfair as a rating as I haven't worn it. The reason is that it is slightly longer than a standard HD filter. I didn't know about them so I bought a pair as I had heard many good stories about K&N filters. And with a nut on the end, it's easy to unscrew. What I found on my bike (2003 Road King 88") with the radiator oil cooler adapter is that this slightly longer filter did not clean the crankshaft sensor. So I had to go with the original. High Definition filter to clean it install. Without the oil cooler adapter and enough room inside I would love it. Especially with a nut on the end. A colleague of mine has a 2009 Elektra with a 96" oil cooled engine and it fits perfectly here. . This is an 88" Model that is a little tight around the crankshaft sensor with the oil cooler installed.The filter it fits in is probably great but just consider the space on the HD 88" model with the oil cooler installed. That's all.
