These are very thin socks although they offer some cushioning in the heel and forefoot. Also, the seam on the toes is thick and will chafe your toes. But otherwise they felt good and I like the colors very much. I would like to add that it is in fact mostly cotton as advertised. However, I wear a size 11/11.5 and can hardly get them on my feet, they are so SMALL! I knew they might not be very comfortable as one reviewer said in the Q&A that they fit sizes 7-11, but they didn't even come close. I would say the correct size would be closer to 6-9.5. I snapped a photo and placed it next to the gold toe and bomb sock which should have been listed as something like 6-13 or 7-12. As you can see, these Chunglerain socks run significantly smaller. If you're a men's shoe size 6-9.5 and don't mind a thick, noticeable toe seam, these could be the socks for you. If they were my size they would be 3 star socks for me as the seam on the toes is terrible and I doubt the durability as they are so thin. Other than those things, I liked everything about these socks.
