Review on 🌊 Filtrete HVAC Air Freshener: Seaside Mist, Whole House Filter by Dawn Robinson

What a disaster! It started off well as it smelled pretty good through the packaging. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. Upon opening the package and taking out the product, the smell became unbearable. I read the instructions looking for the pad I needed to remove and couldn't find it. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the protective film was inside the box, meaning it had already been removed. Then I checked the things you had to take off to get a stronger scent. Mine were mostly peeled off anyway, so I just removed the individual papers because I didn't want them sucked into my oven. Next is the command bar, so I put it in the vent after the oven because it didn't make sense. Place it on our filter as instructed to place it on the filter farthest from the fan motor. Why would I put the scent I want in my house on a filter and it would then filter it out? It's pointless. Just as our vents are in our basement, I could attach them to the vent in the ceiling so they would heat our entire main floor. (We have two ovens, one for the upstairs and the other for the downstairs). At that moment after touching this thing I felt a little sick/painful like I had toxic chemicals on me. It was causing pain and a weird chemical taste in my mouth. I thought maybe it was just because I had it on my hands so I washed myself well and then waited to see how it was. During the day I didn't have heat because it was kind of warm and sunny which warmed our house, but at night the heat increased and in the middle of the night I woke up with this taste in my mouth with this nauseous feeling. Although my bedroom was upstairs it has moved to the bedrooms as the heat tends to rise. I tried covering my head with a sheet but couldn't get rid of the toxic mouthfeel and pain, so I got up, put on gloves, cleaned up the sickening toxic smell and threw it in the bin outside. I will never buy one of these again. The smells are clearly unnatural because I never get that from smelling apple pie baking or even from soaking cinnamon sticks. It just may not be healthy for everyone. Thank you for reading my review.
