Poor quality alloy - pliers

Looks like made from poor quality alloy (i.e. doesn't contain enough carbon I suspect) . This was discovered by bending 16 gauge steel wire and bending (but not snapping) the handles (both) inward. Either way, they're no longer usable, and trying to bend the handles back will only weaken the metal even more.

Has concave and convex jaws for bending wire into shafts

Cons

Questionable purchase for the elderly
