Review on Safety Innovations 10408 Dual Outlet by Deelo Sylvester

Revainrating 5 out of 5

PERFECT! And not all that unattractive.

A bit of background knowledge. Apparently, people building homes in the Seattle area don't see air conditioning as essential. I expressly disagree! In order not to die in the summer, we decided to buy a window unit. Trouble is, get the big one and you'll have to install a 220v outlet. Instead of giving my landlord a few hundred bucks, we went with the biggest that will work in a standard outlet. new problem While I can plug it into any outlet in the house, it would be wise to use a 20 amp wired outlet. I would like air conditioning in the living room, but the nearest 20 amp outlet is in the kitchen. The problem is solved. A giant 10/3 extension cord neatly tucked away on the wall behind the furniture and plugged in out of sight by the trash can. Sounds great, right?!? no My hyperactive kids and forgetful husband keep hitting the attached cord with the trash can which sticks out a lot because it's huge and probably bigger than I need but hey. More is always better, right? After several of a trash can's outlets break off, it encounters a wire too strong to bend. I decided I needed an outlet cover like those ugly gray things outside my house. I found that clear ones exist and almost bought one. Until I found this nifty little creation. It looks like typical childproof covers, only larger to fit my ridiculously large extension cord. And it was pretty cheap, despite not qualifying for Prime and having to pay for shipping. It arrived pretty quickly and I installed it right away. It comes with 2 panels so you can use it with standard sockets or Decora panels (unlike many other covers). Unscrew the old cap, replace it with the one provided and you're done! It also comes with new screws! I really like this article. It's not very ugly, it's perfect for a giant power strip and another charging box (see my posted image). Easy enough to open for an adult but will cause problems for a child (although I don't use it for that purpose). No more cables and it looks tidier next to my trash can. Perfect, perfect, perfect!
