Mind little hands

I love this socket cover! My 8 month old baby can't take his little crawling arms off of anything. This solved some serious problems. I like that you have to press the top and bottom buttons at the same time to open it. We routed the cable covers through the bottom hole so our little one couldn't pull on the cables at all. The bot is a little bulky, but that's to be expected as it should have room for the cable when plugged in. We will be buying more of these devices soon.

Inexpensive good for electrics

Just installed today, just what I need! I chose this particular model because the plug on my extension cord enters the socket at an angle and the hole for the cord is slightly to the right (see photo). It's still a little handy when plugged into the bottom outlet, but perfect for the top one. The child tried several times to open it without success. Expensive but worth it! I will update if there are any issues with continued use.

Keep my baby away! The Best in Electrical Boxes, Wiring & Fittings

My 10 year old son has severe autism. He seems to have a real problem with the sockets. I don't know why he doesn't like connected devices, but he really cares about connected devices, so he goes around the house turning off the TVs while they're on. He spent the summer shutting down mobile air. air conditioners. I was very concerned that it would break our electronics if I kept unplugging them while working so I need to come up with a solution and as these plug ins are so big for such items…

Is working. Ease of installation. Works with decorative rosettes.

We have a socket right next to my son's bed. Now he's starting to explore the world, we knew it was only a matter of time before his fingers explored the socket. Those are ground sockets so I'm not worried he might hurt himself but he could very easily turn off his baby monitor. We have decorative rosettes and this is the only one that matches the style. To install. You remove the exit bezel, insert the new bezel into the guard, and screw it into the screw holes you already have. All you need…

Requires some modifications to the hatch cover

Overall I am satisfied so far. I love that it takes two hands to open, and while any box you hang on the wall looks crappy, this one looks better than most. It's super easy to install and there's plenty of room in the box - unless you have a right angle plug, as EVER Hatch owner knows. Because of this I had to modify it to make it work, but I've included the steps here if you want to do it yourself - it's pretty easy, just a little tricky: 1. Mark the position of the center of the hatch cable…

Protection against rabbits!

I have a rabbit who likes the taste of rubber. including cords! Since this is a major safety issue for all parties (buns, string, humins) I needed something to cover the source of the strings. While there are many products that protect the cords themselves, the bulky area next to the outlet is also an issue if you're covering the cords for safety. This product is worth it. I actually turned mine upside down so the cords run up the wall where I was then able to cover them with thin tubing. I…

A neat idea with many design and production issues

This article is a great idea. For the most part, it does what it says on the tin: it screws into an outlet and snaps into place with a couple of buttons (top and bottom). Pros: * Easy to install. Literally five minutes.* Safe enough for kids: The buttons are a simple but neat mechanism that is likely to get in the way of most babies and toddlers. Cons:* This item is cheaply made. *really* cheaply made. The plastic is thin and feels brittle. Doors don't snap unless you intentionally align them…

PERFECT! And not all that unattractive.

A bit of background knowledge. Apparently, people building homes in the Seattle area don't see air conditioning as essential. I expressly disagree! In order not to die in the summer, we decided to buy a window unit. Trouble is, get the big one and you'll have to install a 220v outlet. Instead of giving my landlord a few hundred bucks, we went with the biggest that will work in a standard outlet. new problem While I can plug it into any outlet in the house, it would be wise to use a 20 amp wired
