This article is a great idea. For the most part, it does what it says on the tin: it screws into an outlet and snaps into place with a couple of buttons (top and bottom). Pros: * Easy to install. Literally five minutes.* Safe enough for kids: The buttons are a simple but neat mechanism that is likely to get in the way of most babies and toddlers. Cons:* This item is cheaply made. *really* cheaply made. The plastic is thin and feels brittle. Doors don't snap unless you intentionally align them when you close them. If a baby really wants to play with it or use it to stand up etc. it will likely crack. Yes, it's that thin.* The doors don't close completely. So if something lights up inside the box (such as an LED on a Z-Wave outlet or power adapter plug), you can see it through the gap between the doors. I can imagine babies being drawn to a strange glowing white box and playing with it until it breaks (which doesn't take long, see above).* The inside of the box is quite small. The photo shown here shows a power supply connected to the mains. It's either an unusually small adapter, or the doors won't close when plugged in. Space for larger plugs.* The housing is wall mounted with a mounting plate that bolts to the electrical box in the wall. Unfortunately, this means that if the electrical box is not completely flush with the wall, there will be a gap between the panel and the wall and the box will not fit snugly against the wall; it will hang freely from the panel. I managed to cover the back of the door with a few strips of soft insulation and it worked. The manufacturer really should include some strips with this product to fix this problem. All in all, while it's a good idea, these items are so cheaply made and flawed that I can't recommend them.
