Loose and rough, but FIXABLE
These canvases are loose, but it's easy to fix them. In any sprayer, spray water on the BACK of the canvas (on the area accessible inside the frame) and lay on the fronts to dry. The canvas will tighten as it dries. It's not perfect, but it makes these a lot better.If you find the surface rough (it is if doing small detail work!) buy cheap gesso, paint it on with any cheap brush, and lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper. Alternately, simply paint over the top with a light coat of titanium white paint (or any other background color you wish) and let it dry thoroughly before painting your masterpiece.Those two tricks turn a 2.5-star canvas into a four-star canvas.
