Review on Grind Gourmet Travel Salt and Pepper Grinder Set - Original Pump & Grind Travel Gadgets, Spice Grinding Mill - Compact Salt Pepper Grinder, Includes Free Pep Spice and Salt by Jeff Westra

Expensive but giftable

I find it funny that I bought this for the same reason another reviewer wrote that they bought it; Grind gourmet has to thank Jordan Shlansky from the Conan O'Brien show for showing a similar product when they filmed his cluttered office episode lol. I only have two doubts: the price is quite high for so little salt. /pepper grinder, and at the touch of a button quite a lot of salt/pepper at once, maybe more than you would like for your food. It may be more suitable for cooking away from home. Also, finer grains of salt come out on their own when you shake the grinder, and grinding peppercorns comes out a little more than I expected (just don't expect them to be powdery. More like fine grains of sand). It also feels pretty solid and looks better than one that has the plastic button cracked, as one reviewer claims. That was pretty much the driving factor for me to switch to an all-metal coffee grinder. Personally I would appreciate such a gift as I am trying to make a habit of cooking my own food to take to work where I will be most likely to use it. The packaging makes this a very valuable gift and I love that it comes with a fancy suede pouch as well as a stand which I wasn't expecting at all. I also appreciate that they contained salt grains and whole peppercorns, although they came in very suspicious looking unmarked ziplock bags that people keep illegal drugs in.

Pros
  • Salt and Pepper
Cons
  • Not sure
