The coolness factor is that each bulb can be an individual color! The app comes with 9 "scenes" including a red, white, and blue scene; a red and green Christmas scene; and a multi-color scene.The only scene that is customizable is the "Pick 2" which allows you to choose any 2 colors and alternates between your two chosen colors - which would be satisfactory for the various holidays throughout the year. The other 8 scenes cannot be customized. If you choose "strobe" it will switch between the preprogrammed colors.etc.The wire between the control block and the first bulb is extremely short (6 inches) - I would be willing to purchase an extension. I would also like to purchase a second set to extend this set without a second control block - the set is designed for this unimplemented feature.The provided app is fairly good. The initial setup includes a routine for turning the lights on, but not for turning them off. When you create a new routine to turn the lights off - the new routine looks very different. I resolved this by not using the default "turn on" schedule.The Google Home does not work for me! The light color does not match the requested color. I choose purple and I get green. If I choose red, it turns off. Also, if you switch the "brightness" the lights switch to white. All these features work fine if I use the provided app.The control block is very sensitive to power loss. If there is any power loss you have to re-add the device and all setting are reset to the default.Also, the bulbs are not very bright.
