Review on 🎨 12 Ounce Stretched Canvas Art Supplies by Dawn Fischer

Not strong, poor quality

Didn't notice the stretcher when it arrived. I assumed this would be the standard track of wooden stretchers. The difficulty is that the stretcher is not the traditional standard width and thickness. The stretchers are small. The industry standard for strong stretcher bars is 3/4 inch thick and 1.5 inch wide to provide long support for the canvas and, perhaps more importantly, to provide material for adding a frame. This stretcher is only 1/2" thick and 1" and 1/2" wide. They have a lot of knots in the pine which makes them flimsy. If you use the popular canvas clips to attach them to your picture frame, you will find that the clamps are too big and won't hold these undersized wooden frames, or if you are driving screws or nails into or through stretcher bars to hold them in a picture frame you are far more likely to break rather weak pieces of wood or chipping. I'd rather spend a little more for a standard size stretcher. The canvas is thinner than the standard canvas and the gesso is thin as well. This product is not a bargain. You can spend less but you get what you pay for, much less than you would like I would not buy these fragile items again and do not recommend them.
