My 30 year old cabinets still look great but it's time to replace the original hinges as after 30 years some hinges are too weak to handle closing office doors. Original high quality hinges from Amerock. I ordered 50 of these DecoBasics hinges to replace all the hinges on all the cabinets in my house. The processing of the hinges is very nice. No problem. However, the springs of these hinges are very weak. After installing 12 loops, half of them stopped coping with their task. Either some doors don't close completely or the door barely closes. So the problem is that the springs are weak. I've wasted my time installing them which makes me angry as I hate doing the same job twice. I removed all 12 hinges and ordered quality Amerock hinges. Amerock hinges cost twice as much as these Decora hinges but Amerock hinges are very well made, they work very well and should last another 30 years. A NOTICE. Genuine Amerock hinges can be found at Lowes hardware stores and on eBay from a reputable seller. Some sellers here at Revain claim hinges. They are for sale by Amerock but if you read the reviews they think it is a cheap copy as the quality is poor and it also has weak springs. Conclusion: I cannot recommend these hinges. Buy quality hinges so you don't waste time trying to do the same. work twice. Hope this helps some of you.
