These toners cost 4 times less than HP toners. The color is just as good and they work great. But there are two things you need to know, two downsides that make up for the great price. For the time being, these shortcomings are worth the money for me, because the price of original HP toner is ridiculous. But you must take them into account.1. HP toners have a small microchip. This microchip is required for the toner to work. So when you get one of these new toners, you need to remove the microchip from the HP toner and put it in the new toner. While the company provides written and video instructions and it really isn't all that difficult, it does require a fair amount of dexterity when working with fine details. The chip is small (only about 5mm x 5mm) and if you damage or lose it, the toner will not work and you will have to buy HP toner. (But you can keep this toner for later.) When the chip is installed, the toner works normally.2. The HP microchip also tells the printer how much toner is left. The problem is that you insert the chip that says "This toner cartridge is empty" into a new, full toner cartridge. As a result, the printer (and the printer utility on your computer) will constantly warn you that your cartridges are low. You really never know how much toner is left until it just stops working. You can try to estimate from the total number of pages printed, but I don't know of a reliable method. So, either wait until the day comes when you can't print and backorder, or backorder at some point, knowing that day will come one day.
