DIRECTIONS HERE. Confusing! There are no instructions in our box but finally found out. 1. The phone just hangs on the lens. We were looking for a way to attach it to a tripod.2. To attach the tripod to the binoculars with the shackle, you have to unscrew and remove the small knob between the sides that seems to hold them together :-) and screw in place with the large handle from the shackle. The strut is then screwed onto the tripod and then tightened with the round black knob. Use your phone's Bluetooth setting to pair the remote control with your phone to take photos. The first few photos of our fridge magnets were great - looking forward to trying them out. Afternoon with the birds at the feeding station.
