the brown ones are said to hold their shape better but I prefer these. I rinse Browns in near-boiling water, 50 at a time, multiple rinses. They're never odorless, but I don't feel them afterwards. On the other hand, they are so weakened by this rinsing that whites (unwashed) keep their shape better. Dimensional stability isn't that important, but it's easier to pour into a filter that hasn't deformed while we're here. Let me just say that I don't think the impulse fill method is necessary with 155 filters. You can water continuously if you water slowly enough. I use a strong 400 ml glass. no dripping, no pulsing required. The silicone strap of the Hario VDD-02B carafe fits _here_ very well!
