There are a couple of issues with this thing. There is a retractable lever to hold the top of the canvas. The lock associated with this hand is very weak, which means that when you take the easel by the painting/drawing, the top hand will slide up and the easel will fall off the painting and fall to the ground. (Guess how I discovered that?) Second, there's no lock on the back leg, meaning that if you pick up the easel in any way, the back leg will rotate toward you, making it very uncomfortable. reset to default. Also, the easel has very, very little rigidity. If you paint too hard it will move. But then I guess we get what we pay for, don't we? This one is going to the landfill and I'm going to buy something better, more usable. I do not recommend.
