That's it, it's good

The compass is not filled with liquid, which is very good. It takes a few seconds to find a level high enough for the needle to float freely. Small but still readable. The phosphor illumination is initially bright but only lasts about a minute (with a 1000 lumen flashlight). Sunlight is more than 1 hour and will "glow" for a few more minutes. It doesn't glow for hours as some might point out. Can be used in the dark with continuous flashlight re-exposure before viewing. Still functional and useful. Practical pocket format, the lid closes tightly. Easy to open and close. Generally the magnetism will vary 1-10 degrees but I've run a fridge magnet over it several times from S to N and now all the N arrows are pointing right at N. I like my Coghlan pocket compass but I can use this at night or Low light conditions without interfering with my night vision. The main reason I tried them. If you have a powerful enough flashlight at night, you're good to go.
