I was afraid to buy this product because of some not so good reviews but I took the risk because I really needed a rechargeable irrigator. I'm so glad I took the risk, this water pick is so easy to use. I didn't have the problem that others are talking about, I didn't have any splashing on my face and I didn't have a big mess. I just followed the instructions that came with it and it works like a breeze on the first try. I haven't had enough time to determine the shelf life of this product, but so far I like it. I didn't have any pain using it either, I put the irrigator on the tooth where it meets the gum line and it's perfect. You should keep your mouth slightly open and just let the water run down the sink. Good product!
