Review on ๐Ÿฅพ Lansing Steel Raven Waterproof Utility Boots by John Koch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

4 months and very satisfied!

I've had these boots for over 4 months now. The work I do requires 3 consecutive weeks of 10 hours per day and includes things like demolishing sidewalks, shoveling rock and earth, pouring concrete into both small areas and transporting concrete in hoppers and domes from large steel pillars. Needless to say it is tough on the feet and also very tough on clothes and shoes. Cheap boots will stiffen after a few hours, and inferior leather won't stand up to the strain. All in all, these were great work boots. I've always loved the comfort and utility of hiking shoes and these really are the best of both worlds. Pros: First of all, steel socks. They have an asymmetrical design as each sock is shaped to fit both left and right. This is a SIGNIFICANT improvement in comfort and overall utility over the regular, standard molded toe box found in most boots. In this sense. SUPER handy right out of the box. No break-in period. As I mentioned, I work very long days on my feet and the comfort they provide was a big deal. - Design: both tread profile and impregnation top, no complaints. CONS: - Laces. To be honest they are so bad I replaced them with another brand. During operation it did not get stuck and eventually simply wore out. Actually, I would like to deduct a star for this, but otherwise I am satisfied, so I leave it. But if you get them and plan on using them a lot, just plan on changing the laces. Overall it's great and I will definitely be buying Keen work boots again for as long as I need steel toe boots.

Pros
  • STEEL TOE: Left and right asymmetric unique anatomically correct steel toe cap offers a roomier toe for maximum comfort and a discreet fit; Men's Lansing Mid work boots meet or exceed ASTM F2412 and F2413 I/75 and C/75
Cons
  • Makes me angry
