The first time I used it it worked quite well straight away. I then cleaned it up and found that it uses the cheapest screws and has the part on the bracket where the food gets stuck at the bottom. If you don't remove that little plate and take out the food, the bacteria will start to build up, so the next time you use it, the disease will spread through your food. I assume other reviewers have never attempted to clean the machine after use, which is common for people. Either way, getting the screws back in is a nightmare. I couldn't even get the screws flush with the mount, which I didn't see as a huge problem until I tried using it to cut meat slices. The blade tore through the screws and spattered metal shavings all over the flesh. I don't understand why the mount is designed that way. It should all be in one piece, and there shouldn't be a tiny bit of metal plating covering that small gap. The biggest design flaw.
