Have a similar still but without the hammer but decided to use it anyway. The still box was shipped upside down, damaging the inner packaging but not part of the still. The distillation configuration is very inefficient in terms of the condenser. Located on top of the boiler, it conducts heat not only through the copper coil but also from the lit boiler itself. This requires much more coolant and ice to keep the distillate flowing efficiently. Rubber (or other material) tubing had a very unpleasant odor which passed onto the distillate and gave it an unpleasant taste. It was very frustrating to keep the condenser cool enough for distillation so the operation stopped after more than 4 hours with almost 0.5 gallons of distillate collected. I tried to distill 5 gallons of water. It would be very expensive to lose the ingredients if they were used (which I don't intend to do anyway). , this is where the bottom was welded on the side. This made me concerned about the quality of the distillate. I'm concerned that the distillate might contain lead or heavy metals. I do not recommend this device for making anything for human consumption (without prior laboratory quality control of the distillate).
