Review on πŸ“‘ High gain directional panel antenna - Alfa APA-M25 Dual Band with RP-SMA Connector (10dBi) - Compare to Asus WL-ANT-157 by Jessie Ritchie

Is working! This antenna has impressive signal gain over distance.

This is a well designed dual band WiFi directional antenna. The movement of the plugs simplifies orientation even when using multiple antennas on MIMO radios. The solder joints are very clean and the coax cable runs all the way to the board as required for proper impedance matching. There are many "fake" that can't handle it. Signal strength measurements with Alfa AWUS052NH 802.11n 2.4/5 GHz Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Adapter: - Measured with airodump-ng - Signal Strength Unit - RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength. Indication. The access point was about 120 feet away on the other side of the exterior brick/plaster wall. With the stock antenna my RSSI values were: Channel 1: -47 to -48 Channel 149: -44 to -46- With the Alfa APA-M25 my RSSI values were: -- Channel 1: -37 to -39 -- Channel 149: -33 to -36 Minor disadvantages: - The reflector is just a piece of foil. Ribbon. Although this is more than "good enough" since the fine creases on the foil are much smaller than the maximum wavelength, I replaced the foil with a piece of aluminum cut with scissors. However, I did not notice any change in signal levels with this change. (I felt better anyway.) - The case wasn't glued or screwed and opens easily with a plastic spatula. This is good for disassembly, but not suitable for installation in a humid environment. If this is your use case, I would suggest opening the case and then placing a bead of silicone around the perimeter before closing it again, or for a simpler but slightly less effective method, wrapping tape around the seam. Note: The receiving (front) side is screen printed on the units I received.
