After reading other reviews I decided to try these. Yes, they are mostly opaque. Nylon makes them very soft. But it also makes them prone to baggy knees and ankles, especially if the child is on the lower end of store size (and very skinny). It doesn't have that angular back/shape that you get from big brand dancewear tights. That might be okay for some people (those who don't like feeling cooped up in a sausage box). However, for a child who dances several times a week, you really want a tighter fit for a neat look, rather than abusing so gently that they're getting dressed and undressed a few times. durable or smooth/elastic like Danskin, Capezio.
