Review on New Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (White Box) by Czeslawa Gorska ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I expected more from the purchase, but not the worst option.

I required a lens that was at the very least comparable to, if not significantly better than, the whale 18-55. At first glance, it appeared as though - wow, how wonderful he is, how wonderful he is! You have the ability to wind the filters, there is a simple focus ring, and (as a result of the proportions), it is much easier to show off in front of the young ladies. But . It's possible that this is the fault of a particular specimen that I came across, but in comparison to a whale, it has the following characteristics: - it's three times more expensive; - it's twice as heavy; - it has a trunk that constantly and spontaneously falls out; - it gives the worst picture quality because it is very, very, very unsharp; and - it has a trunk that constantly and spontaneously falls out (which many have already written about here). It is the second part that is really important to me. I compared the Canon 18-135 on two separate cameras, each equipped with a whale lens, manually and automatically focused, and using a variety of apertures. The difference in soapiness is rather obvious to compare. Alas!

Pros
  • Obtains a better approach and appears to be more robust than the whale:)
Cons
  • Unsharp, dark, no trunk retainer.
