Purchased for use with August Smart Lock Pro. Thanks to the auto-lock feature, there's a chance you won't enter your own home unless your phone is taped to your pocket. That should be our plan B. Unfortunately, it's terribly unreliable. Enter the PIN in August with the Enter key and the lock works in 5-45 seconds (or never). Most of the time it just sits on the flashes - presumably trying to send a signal - and then just stops doing anything. The keypad is literally 6 inches from the lock on the door itself. There is no magazine. There is no way to troubleshoot. Nothing. Instead, I take my phone out of my pocket, press unlock on the app and it instantly opens 100% of the time. So it's not the castle. Result: Good idea. Bad performance. Pros: - Good buttons and decent plastic case. Cons: - Unreliable. Unlocks 60% of the time within 45 seconds - Must be in Bluetooth range to set/reset new passcode - Limited to 4-6 digit contact - Bluetooth only, does not use connection. Battery powered, no hard wiring option. Easy to steal, although August says they'll replace it if that happens.
