Review on Leaton Digital Luxmeter: Accurate Light Meter 🌞 with LCD Display (Range: 0.1~200,000 Lux Luxmeter, 0.01~20,000 Fc) by Larry Daniels

Range and OL errors are answered below.

I use this to estimate the lighting of my orchid stands that I grow under neon lights. I'm giving 4 stars considering the price and the fact that I only need a rough measurement. I hope this review answers questions not covered in the guide. An OL error message means that the light intensity you are trying to measure is out of range. For this reason, the device defaults to Auto (Range) at startup. For example, if you try to measure a light intensity of 18,000 fc but your range is set to 2000 (or 200), the display will show 'OL'. But on "auto" is the device intelligent enough to change your range to 20,000. So if you need rough measurements, like I did, leave the range setting on "auto". The reason why the range is important is that the device is more accurate in the smallest usable range. For example, if you are measuring a light intensity of 150 fc, the measurement will be more accurate using a range of 200 than using a range of 2000 or 20,000. I have removed the asterisk for ease of use as it is bare in the instructions. It would take you 10 minutes to print what I just did. that the device is more accurate in the smallest usable range.
