17 days in Thailand

My packing method is as follows: take what I need for the trip and nothing else. A few weeks ago I returned from a 17 day trip to Thailand. I fit everything I need in my backpack (camera gear, foot, water, hat) and my Cotopaxi Allpa 35L travel backpack. Among the items I brought were: Katadyn water filter Katadyn Befree water filter with Hydrapak 0.6L collapsible bottle, full face snorkel mask with ocean view, 180 degree panoramic snorkel mask - full face design, panorama dark blue/grey, large/extra large and those fins. Fitting fins and a snorkel mask in a small backpack was a little tricky, but I only took the essentials with me on this trip. I used almost everything I brought with me. The only things I wouldn't take with me are my second action camera (had actually only used a gopro), the camera charger (it had enough batteries so I didn't even need it) and a long sleeve shirt which I just took with me in case . I caught a cold in the mountains of Thailand. I didn't use the water filter or super glue I brought, but I'm glad I had both. Although the fins were the largest item in my backpack, I'm very glad I took them. They were very easy to pack because they came out pretty flat. The neoprene boot creases easily and the fins are not long enough to fit in hand luggage. The only part that doesn't pinch is the outsole. These fins are basically boots at the bottom with a fin growing out of them so part of the boot is quite stiff. They fit perfectly in my backpack and work really well in the water. It is very easy to walk in on the beach as the fin is slightly raised above the toe. The shorter fins mean they aren't as good as the big fins for moving quickly through the water, but they were much better than barefoot. The only negative thing about traveling with these fins is that they don't dry very quickly. Thailand is tropical and muggy and I had to put these boots in a large plastic bag when packing because they didn't dry fast enough to just toss in my bag. This is definitely a 5 star product. I would be happy to take them with me on my next trip (to Panama).
