Review on πŸ”Š Powerful Sony XM-GS6DSP GS Series Class-D Amplifier with DSP and Bluetooth Connectivity by Troy Arnold

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little amp for home audio

Wonderful amp! Before installing I reviewed this amp and gave it 3 stars. Upgrade to 5. Half of that was because I didn't understand the manual the first time I read it. I thought about returning it. I'm glad I didn't as I'm really impressed with this little amp. Small Size This isn't the smallest amp, but it has a very low profile. For a 6-channel amplifier with a stable 600W 2-ohm subwoofer, you don't get much smaller in my opinion. It's 3 inches longer than my previous 4-channel 400W amp, but about the same width and an inch shorter. It has built-in heatsinks and gets pretty hot at times. Not sure if this is a good underseat candidate, despite its small size and Class D performance, this amp needs airflow/volume around it. Ease of installation. I would rate it 3 out of 5 if you don't get it. professionally installed. Here the guide is a bit off. I left the amp and decided to install 2 channels instead of 6. When installing 2 channels with high-level connections, the manual says no need to connect a remote cable. That is not right. This only works if you are not using a subwoofer. Speaker cables are enough to trigger auto-detection; However, the remote cable is needed to power the auxiliary stage. If you connect a subwoofer without this cable, the amplifier will go into protection mode every few seconds. If you have installation experience and read carefully, unlike me, this will not be a big problem. The sound quality is very impressive. Reliable single amplifier solution. The highs are crisp, crisp and sound like the amp is putting out more than its rated output. I haven't tested this yet. The subwoofer is easy to dose and ensures an appropriate volume. Tested with different input sources and music types. So far I haven't been disappointed. Advanced features and the whole Sony app are pretty good and easy to use. I still listen to CD stuff. But if you only use Bluetooth, you can almost do without the head unit. This would be great for flush fitting into a classic car and retaining the original dash. I would like the time alignment feature to be set to milliseconds instead of centimeters, but that's a minor point. I still have some tinkering to do with this amp and I'm glad I kept it. This amp isn't cheap, but it's worth the money. Maybe even a little bit more
