🔊 Powerful Sony XM-GS6DSP GS Series Class-D Amplifier with DSP and Bluetooth Connectivity Review

Installed on Camry. Very good sounding amplifier. Not very good if your windows are closed. DSP is very limited compared to other built-in amplifiers. It will work with a 2 ohm subwoofer, but will heat up and shut off when used with 2 ohm front or rear speakers. This is an amp for those who drive with the AC on and don't listen to music at very high volume.

I've been into car audio since I was 16 years old. I've entered competitions, sold it and even judged in competitions once. I've heard a lot of gear and I'm really impressed with this amp. Clarity is excellent and the smaller size makes it easy to find a spot to set it up. I replaced my old school Alpine MRV F400 that I've owned since 1995 and the improvement was immediately visible.

I am installing this on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) because my old one is getting old. The packaging was of good quality and the size of this amp is much smaller than my old one. I hooked one up to a dual 2 ohm Quantum 10" 2000w competition woofer with a 180oz magnet. I also use a Rockford Fosgate capacitor which seems to work great with this unit All I can say is wow I took a chance on buying it when they were selling for 549.99 and bought it direct from Sony to test and I just bought it for 153.99 to use it as a second to power two Rockford Fosgate 8" door subwoofers that were ordered with this amp in my Mustang. (update 1/5 year): I raised my rating from 3 stars to 4.5 because I had no problems with it and it went without my participation connects to my phone. something very fast. Also, the crappy Bluetooth functionality is a blessing for me as I now have an excuse to always listen to music when I have passengers. I installed an XMGS6DSP amplifier in my 1963 Volvo 544 to power more speakers and add Bluetooth to the stock AM radio. I used the AM radio's speaker inputs so I can switch between AM and Bluetooth which is great! Wonderful amp! Before installing I reviewed this amp and gave it 3 stars. Upgrade to 5. Half of that was because I didn't understand the manual the first time I read it. I thought about returning it.
