Simple, clear, no fancy lights and such. but there is a downside

The last humidifiers we used were very unsatisfactory. One was very difficult to clean (and we ended up classifying it as a "biological experiment gone wrong" and destroying it), while the other gave off an annoyingly bright light that made it impossible to sleep. This one solves those issues (despite one negative review I saw). Cleaning is very easy, operation is simple, performance is excellent, operation is silent, and the power indicator is off. We just encountered one problem. The block and base are round, and the design is so minimal that it's not entirely clear how the top should face when reinstalled. And it's easy to be wrong. Some sort of guidance or other way of aligning components is welcome.
