DARK SCREEN: Traditional laptops

I'm not sure - I need to do some research but if the screen is dark due to something that's easy to fix then this is a great little laptop. I've adjusted settings etc but to no avail - still darker than I'd like. Otherwise it seems like a good buy so far.
