I won't lie I was scared of all the people saying not to buy a turntable in my suitcase so I was skeptical when it came in the mail. But it turned out great! The hinges on the lid are very good and you can't close the lid to protect it from dust getting on your records. But the sound is fantastic and it can get loud. It's Bluetooth, so you can test your speakers and play music straight from your phone, even if you don't have a recording to play it yet. And you can download your music to your computer via the USB port on the back. I will say that the cable you use to connect it is quite short. That way you can't put it high up on the shelf, otherwise the cord won't reach to the outlet below. The quality of the leather is good, not great, but overall it's a good choice for a beginner turntable. I'm also a beginner so I know I don't have the experience to tell you this but don't buy the Crosly or Victorola turntables. They are much cheaper but much worse.
