Review on πŸ”© 50-Pack Stainless Steel Handrail Railing Cable Tensioner Threaded Stud End Fitting for 1/8 inch Cable Wire by Jermall Meredith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product, requires some planning to mount to wooden poles

I used these bushings with this rig which made installation a little trickier (but looks way better!) https://www.amazon.com/gp/ product/B07SX17ZND /ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here's the thing, I'm installing in a standard 3.5" wide rack. The grommets go about 3/4" (25/32 to be exact) into the rack. .The unthreaded portion of this tensioner is 2 inches. If you do the math, that means you have to be within 3/4" on each side, or 1.5" of the total cable length, to be able to adjust this. If you cut the cable too short, the tensioner metal will hit the bushing sticking out in the hole. If you cut the cable too long, you won't be able to tighten the tensioner enough because you've run out of threads. Re-crimping gives you a chance to get it right. All of this results in the cable being cut 6 1/4 inches longer than the inside diameter between two poles. They can be crimped very well with hand pliers!

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Vulgarity
