Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ Enhance Your Nest Thermostat with the Google Nest Power Connector - Convenient C Wire Adapter and Accessories for Smart Thermostats

Nest thermostats are designed to work without a C wire in most homes but for some systems, including heating-only, cooling-only, zone-controlled, and heat pump systems, you'll need a Nest Power Connector or C wire. The Nest Power Connector is a simple affordable alternative to a C wire if your heating and cooling system requires one to power your Nest Thermostat. Costs less than hiring an electrician to install a new C wire through your walls. Installation is simple; the Nest Power Connector attaches to your furnace air handler, or zone controller and comes with simple instructions; no wiring or drilling required. The Nest Power Connector is only compatible with 24 VAC systems; it won't work with millivolt or high voltage systems. The Nest Power Connector is the Nest thermostat C wire adaptor that's designed specifically for Nest thermostats. Doesn't work with accessories

I have no idea what the concept was supposed to be with this because the installation instructions are so vague, but I installed it to the specs and it didn't work at all . After many trips to the basement to try and get it working I wish I could just install a new cable, it would take half the time to find out that this thing doesn't work at all. It wasn't rocket science pulling out a new wire, finding one on the web for $10 and throwing it over the wall, connecting one end to terminal C andโ€ฆ

Fixed A/C Issues

HVAC techs couldn't tell me anything about my specific issue other than the Nest Thermostat which was causing problems with my new A/C due to constant amperage/magnitude due to the Nest Thermostat. They told me I need to replace my thermostat and get one that has an extra wire consolidation mechanism. It took 3 separate HVAC techs to get me there and after some research I found that my unit was affected by my wiring harness not having a "C" or common wire due to the age of the house/HVAC wiring

  • Quality Construction

  • Vulgarity

Simple elegant solution to add a C-cable, yes you need a C-cable AT HVAC

Like many people, I found out a few days after installing the Nest thermostat that I needed a C-wire to charge the thermostat's internal battery. It WAS annoying (non-intuitive - had to google it) but then, looking for a workable solution, this product came along. I had C-Wire on HVAC and of course I had access to the HVAC panel. Installation was easy and after 5 minutes my nest is working perfectly. I really appreciate the product as it solved my problem quickly and easily. However, I'm taking

No "C-Wire " required - Works well - Just heat Setup took a few minutes

Check any "stupid" issues first! Okay - First of all, I've seen a couple of reviews on here that say you NEED C-Wire, when actually it's not true. What you need to make sure is that your HVAC or furnace has the *C* connector on the circuit board. I bought this for my 1987 gas oven, it only had a red/white wire but the circuit board was C/G/Y/W/R. You can check this by looking at the panel on the circuit board and looking for the letter "C". I connected the R/W wires to the headers and R/W and C

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Unreliable

Misleading product - Does not energize wires C

I have a 2 wire thermostat so I had high hopes for this product. But it doesn't work as advertised - it doesn't supply the same current as the physical wire C. After installation, my Nest Thermostat (Gen 3) was reading 40mA when the system was off and 20mA when the system was on. This is the expected behavior for a 2-wire installation with no C-wire. After a day or two, the nest's battery died. I used a multimeter and made sure I was getting 24VAC in the right places. So what did the femaleโ€ฆ

Solved problem of missing C-wire behind thermostat

Once given the info needed the installation was easy and straight forward and was done by a man not overly handy. Like others who have had an issue with the No-C wire behind the thermostat, I turned to purchasing this power connector. The following is what I've learned from lots of research and will hopefully help many others. Turn off the oven. If your house only has 1 zone control (ie your house only has 1 thermostat) connect this power connector to the stove board. If you have 2 or moreโ€ฆ

Generic path not added

Recently installed a nested learning thermostat. I didn't have a C-cable, but the jack still worked fine. I read online that it's a matter of time before the low battery error occurs, so I thought I'd be proactive and add a charge path for the thermostat. Installation was very simple, opened up the HVAC panel, connected the R and Y thermostat wires to this power connector and R and Y from the connector back to the HVAC board. Additionally I connected the wire C coming from the connector to theโ€ฆ
