Solved problem of missing C-wire behind thermostat

Once given the info needed the installation was easy and straight forward and was done by a man not overly handy. Like others who have had an issue with the No-C wire behind the thermostat, I turned to purchasing this power connector. The following is what I've learned from lots of research and will hopefully help many others. Turn off the oven. If your house only has 1 zone control (ie your house only has 1 thermostat) connect this power connector to the stove board. If you have 2 or more zones (ie more than 1 thermostat) connect the power connector to the zone controller, not the oven circuit board. If you have more than one zone, you will need an outlet for each zone where the Nest Thermostat is installed. The zone controller for me was a rectangular box attached to the top of my oven (see my picture, my zone controller is a rectangular box labeled Lennox). I don't know what shape or where yours will be. If you open the zone controller cover, you can see the terminals (where the wires from the thermostats connect) for each zone in your home. Each clamp must be marked. In my picture I have 2 zones (2 thermostats). In Zone 1 you will see the power plug connected to it as Zone 1 is my Nest thermostat. I haven't added a second power plug to Zone 2 yet because I still have a non-Nest thermostat installed for my Zone 2. I will buy another Nest thermostat and a second power supply and connect it to zone 2 on my zone controller.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not the best
