Like many people, I found out a few days after installing the Nest thermostat that I needed a C-wire to charge the thermostat's internal battery. It WAS annoying (non-intuitive - had to google it) but then, looking for a workable solution, this product came along. I had C-Wire on HVAC and of course I had access to the HVAC panel. Installation was easy and after 5 minutes my nest is working perfectly. I really appreciate the product as it solved my problem quickly and easily. However, I'm taking a star off the rating because: - the hassle of figuring out you need the c-cable, which I had absolutely no idea what it was for - I suspect MOST people buying a nest , that will have same problem. So I believe this should be included in the thermostat itself, paying $25 separately isn't fun
