I really didn't know what to expect at this price. Carbide tip? For the advertised price? I was worried. For real. When did they arrive in a plastic box and padded? Let's just say I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, these are great tools. And I mean great. I figured I'd have to settle for HSS Forstner bits and if I accidentally buy carbide tips, they're the cheapest carbide. To my surprise, these are very well made beats. I have been in the manufacturing industry for 25 years and have used carbide tooling on CNC machines for those years. I expected a lot and I mean a lot. We have used Kennametal carbide inserts which have been the industry standard for many years. Having not been in this field for a number of years, I was a little spoiled for quality. These beats are bigger than I thought. While working on the project I didn't want to use HSS bits and figured I had nothing to lose by ordering them. If you are looking for Carbide Tipped Forstner Bits and a good selection then this is a tailor made set. I don't know how long they will last, but I do know they will outlive the HSS. They have done an excellent job for me and I can only recommend them. I intend to order other carbide tipped Kowood tools for myself. GREAT!
