Review on 🔧 Enhanced Work Sharp WSSA00033300 Upgrade Kit by Chris Shepherd

I've just written my review of WSGSS and it wouldn't be an acceptable system for anything but the most basic of sanding jobs without an upgrade kit. With the upgrade kit you can upgrade EVERYTHING. This is the most versatile and economical kit on the market. I won't focus on the kit so much but on why the upgrade is REQUIRED. The extra coarse diamond insert is only needed when reprofiling a knife or repairing badly damaged blades. However, if you want a sophisticated polished edge, Extra Fine and Stropping Plates are required. Some of the Super Steels, like the CPM S110V on my Spyderco Paramilitary 2, look like a "toothed" edge that can only be achieved with the Fine Plate from the standard kit. However, it took me nearly 40 minutes to repurpose this blade with Extra Coarse to change the angle 4 degrees. I forgot to mention that this is a heavy duty kit. I have literally sharpened 100 knives (tens of knives to be precise, many times) in the 4 years that I have owned this knife. It still cuts great and I still use all original. I've seen some people complain that you can't get a true high gloss finish with this kit. That's for sure, but with the upgrade I get a reasonably polished edge that looks great and shaves like a barber. The combination of WSGSS and upgrade kit gives you amazing results for a long time at a reasonable price. If you have money to burn, buy a quality Wicked Sharp. I'll spend the money on better knives unless I win the lottery.
