I bought this for my work office in the basement... I have it on my desk with the alarm off. Air stagnation problems are common and this gave me an opportunity to discuss something specific with my husband. It was important to understand why I was uncomfortable; This was because the CO2 rose rapidly from 500 to 900 each day. NOT COOL! The issue has not been fully resolved; but I feel much more empowered to measure the problem. And we are definitely working on it! This device works great, it can definitely work when we leave the house and come back since we have indoor plants in the office. You can set or disable the alarm threshold. It is set much lower than the OSHA Transitional Normal Maximum. In terms of humidity, it matches our Nest thermostat. However, it is recommended to keep CO2 levels in a building as low as possible for optimal health. All in all I would definitely recommend this good device... It was very useful to have.
