Durgol Descaler is what the people who sold us the espresso machine recommend. It's easy to use, but honestly I'm amazed at the price. I would like to descale our machine more often, but not for cost reasons. Another thing is that the volume of both the solution and the water in it is quite small. Larger kettles may be too large for the amount of diluted solution. I'm not sure as my kettle is quite small. But the level in the solution and water tank is quite low at first. This probably works well as the gray mineral deposits wash out after use. But is it because I only descale every three months? I've since switched to citric acid as it's MUCH cheaper, around $7 I think for a pack that should allow for multiple descalings. I will probably use Durgol once a year and citric acid monthly. If money and size are not an issue then you should not consider buying and using this product.
