Right after I followed the instructions for the descaling solution and the instructions for my car, my car broke IMMEDIATELY. Holds almost no bar pressure and allows water and coffee to flow through every opening in the machine. In the photo above, my car is in a biscuit tray to avoid messing up my counter. I have absolutely no idea how this happened but I do know my machine worked great for 4 months before I descaled it. Terrible product.

I read the directions several times because they didn't seem quite right. They tell you to add a 4.2-ounce bottle of descaler to the same amount of water and start the machine. My machine will not work with only 8.4 ounces in the water tank. I used 2 bottles which was barely enough and did the best I could. Durgol Descaler is what the people who sold us the espresso machine recommend. It's easy to use, but honestly I'm amazed at the price. I would like to descale our machine more often, but not for cost reasons. Another thing is that the volume of both the solution and the water in it is quite small. Oh my god! I didn't expect it to bring much. We've had this espresso machine for 3 or 4 years so I was pretty sure it was shot. I've never been so wrong in my life! This product is amazing. I have to start this review with a little confession. I didn't know I had to descale the coffee maker! I've been using the same coffee maker for at least seven years without ANY descaling. I live in a place with very soft water so it generally worked.
