I've only recently finished my basement and midway through the project I decided to go with built in speakers. why is it wrong I was able to route the speaker wire and access the frame so it wasn't difficult. Also, these speakers come at a reasonable price compared to some other non-wall mounted units. The only difficulty was the passive subwoofer and finding a way to keep the subwoofer from shaking the wall. I had to buy a separate amp for the subwoofer (the Bash 300S is also sold at Revain - great amp!), no big deal. Problem #1 solved. Problem #2 was a little tricky, but luckily my builder offered to build an enclosure to be mounted in the wall. He looked at other 300W powered subwoofers and weighed their average internal volume, bought some MDF and built the cabinet with 1.56 cubic feet of internal volume. Remember this number if you want to do the same. The case is offset with a hole at the bottom of the front of the case (I'll attach photos to it). The installation itself was easy, with the exception of the auxiliary housing. I highly recommend either using thick insulation around the subwoofer or doing what I did and building an inner enclosure. Otherwise, I can only imagine how much your walls will shake. The speakers are used on the Denon AVR-1613 receiver and it sounds great. I'm by no means an audiophile and this is my first surround sound system. bought some MDF and built the cabinet with 1.56 cubic feet of internal volume.
