Review on Nikon Z7 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera (45.7MP Resolution, Body, Black): Model 1591 - Expert Review & Top Deals by Seo Jun Seog ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

I will try to describe the situation. I have been walking with my D800 for 6 years already, knowing that the model is not the most optimized and, in general, many of its initial shortcomings have not been corrected subsequently with the upcoming firmware. But one way or another, it completely suited me, when the D810 came out, I saw it as a camera in which only minor changes were made compared to its predecessor. I definitely thought about changing the camera when the D850 came out, which was literally good at everything. I started saving money, and while saving money for a little over the course of a year, convincing rumors appeared on the Internet that Nikon was planning to release a mirrorless version of the D850, it seemed interesting to me and I still continued to save money, but now I was waiting for more details on the new camera . When the Z7 came out, my skepticism knew no bounds, exactly until I touched the camera live. Yes, it definitely has flaws, but after shooting it, I firstly understood how everything turned out in the pro segment of photo equipment, but secondly, I realized that it is more convenient than my D800. Initially, I wanted to make a full transition to mirrorless using the Z7, but at the moment I did not sell my D800, now I have the main camera with the Z7, and the D800 is in the wings, I put exclusively fast lenses on it.

Pros
  • The compact body, compared to my old camera in terms of weight, of course, everything + is the same, but the dimensions are of course my respect. The fast memory card that came with the kit, I also had one 32 XQD card left with the D800, Auto focus, I'm not used to trusting the focusing system on mirrorless cameras, but it seems that everything has already been fixed normally for this firmware version. Auto focus is tenacious and nimble. Built-in matrix stabilization. The same battery which I already have a whole bunch of from the D800.
Cons
  • The battery life here, of course, does not catch the stars from the sky. It is not convenient to charge from a portable charger while shooting or on the road, so I carry + 2 extra batteries with me in the old fashioned way.
